
Corporate History
Integrated Living is a non-profit, 501-C-3 Corporation established in 1992 for the provision of adult foster care homes in community based settings. The Founder and CEO is Karen (Stallons) Harris who practiced rehabilitation services as an Occupational Therapist as well as rehabilitation management in the Detroit Medical Center prior to starting the Agency in 1992. Karen holds BS and MS degrees from Wayne State University, has lived in Macomb and Oakland Counties all of her life, and is committed to serving children, adults, and senior citizens with disabilities. This is her passion and life calling.
Integrated Living employs over 150 people who are committed to the service of community based programs for adults, children, and senior citizens who need residential care services and in-home supports. The Agency prides itself on attracting and retaining excellent employees who are honest and ethical, kind, and dedicated to servicing people with all levels of ability and disability. The Management Team is extensive, skilled in adult foster care, and committed to the highest level of integrity and customer service. The Administrative Team consists of several people who are skilled, customer service based, and ready to assist people with disabilities, senior citizens, families, Supports Coordinators and other staff from contract agencies on a daily basis.
Integrated Living Assisted Living Homes have been nationally accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) since 2004. CARF Accreditation is not mandated by the Agencies that we service, but we desire to go above and beyond required standards committing us to the highest standards of care in the industry.
